Dr. Boris Pigoubet

Boris Figubet was born in 1953 in Odessa, Ukraine. He graduated in composition from the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow and worked as a senior lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Tajikistan. He immigrated to Israel in 1990 and currently works as a resident composer at the Kiryat Bialik and Petah Tikva conservatories. In 2002, he received a PhD in composition from Bar-Ilan University.



Boris Pigoubet won the Prime Minister's Prize for Composers (2000) and two ACUM Prizes (1995, 2005). His works have been performed in 36 countries, including international festivals such as:

ISCM "World Music Days 2000" in Luxembourg, ACL Asian Music Festival 2003 in Japan, Mid-Europe (1999 and 2004) in Austria, WASBE Conferences in Switzerland (2001), Sweden (2003), Singapore (2005) and the USA (2009 and 2015).
